Intro

Founded at the Village of Ashcroft, in the banks of the Thompson river in BC Interior, Jugaad Innovations(JI) was created from a desire to provide small municipalities facing increasing software demands an advanced, cost effective, open source alternative to available proprietary software.

We are pursuing a paradigm shift to a cloud driven, open source, flexible model for software development with minimal overhead.

Work

Our work has focussed on designing and implementing an Integrated Asset Management System and open-source Business Intelligence focussed on the needs of small, rural municipalities.

The solution has yielded many benefits and has made Ashcroft a leader in Asset Management and BI. We continue to develop the solution to better integrate financial and continue to learn and develop scalable, publicly accessible, open-source BI

About

I've been dismayed by the large amount of publicly funds wasted on software development and licensing. The latest being the boondoggle with ArriveCAN App. As a financial officer, facing a very limited budget in a small municipality, I embarked on finding open-source frugal alternatives to proprietary software.

This lead to teaching myself modern coding languages and learning to use and repurpose open-source software for Asset Management and Business Intelligence

I believe cloud leveraged, open source, collaborative model for software development with minimal overhead is the most effective way to move forward with public sector software development.
